Gangster is suspect in hit and run killing

Gangster is suspect in hit and run killing "SOUTH inner city gangster has emerged as a new suspect in the hit and run killing of a father-of-two.

Edward Lynch (37, below) died two days after being mowed down by a car in Ballyfermot on February 23, 2009.

In the aftermath of the second anniversary, his heartbroken family has appealed for information on his murder as a fourth suspect emerged in the investigation.

Gardai had already established two drug dealers and a vicious and violent young criminal from Blanchardstown as suspects, but further information has led them to believe that a major Inchicore crime figure was also involved.

It is understood that the Inchicore gangster may have ordered the killing which was carried out by a young associate.

A family spokesperson told the Herald: 'We absolutely believe that we can get justice for Edward. There have been extremely significant developments in the case recently but we are willing to wait as long as it takes to get closure.

'The new suspect is known to gardai and he has a history of violence. Our pain is now 10 times worse because we now know someone plotted to have him killed,' she added."
