Gangsters charged with murder of innocent man

Metro - Gangsters charged with murder of innocent man: "Charges have been laid against seven UN gangsters and their associates for the murder of an innocent man killed in a hail of bullets intended for another gang member, RCMP announced Monday.

They’re charged with killing 24-year-old Jonathan Barber, a car stereo installer who was shot to death on Kingsway in 2008 while unwittingly driving a gangster’s car to the shop.

Six of the accused – including former UN gang leader Barzan Tilli-Choli – have been in prison since 2009, when they were arrested on drug, gun and conspiracy to commit murder charges.

A seventh man – Cory “Frankie” Vallee – faces the same charges and is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant."

gang war between the United Nations and Red Scorpions

They were two of the murders that left people in the Lower Mainland terrified during the gang war between the United Nations and Red Scorpions. Now, the Mounties
say they've solved them both.

In 2008, Jonathon Barber was driving a luxury SUV in Burnaby when he was shot and killed. He was just going to install a stereo in the vehicle, not realizing it belonged to one of the Bacon brothers, of the Red Scorpions gang.

Then in February 2009, Red Scorpion Kevin LeClair was shot outside a shopping centre in Walnut Grove.

'We focused on both those groups, and looked for links between those groups,' says Superintendent Dan Malo with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, pointing out all the men have been charged with first degree murder and all are members or associates of the UN gang.

The men accused in the killing of Barber include: Dan Russell, Dilun Heng, Karwan Saed, Ion Kroitoru, Yong Lee, Barazan Tilli-Choli and Cory Vallee.

Valle is also accused of killing LeClair as is Conor D'Monte, the man police call the day-to-day leader of the UN. Neither has been caught. Warrants have been issued for their arrests."

Two murders lead to UN Gang

Two murders lead to UN Gang: "Dan Russell, Dilun Hung, Karwan Saed, Ion Kroitoru, Barzan Tilli-Cholli, Young Lee and Cory 'Frankie' Vallee have been charged with first-degree murder in the 2008 killing of Jonathan Barber and the attempted murder of his girlfriend, Vicky King.

Six of the men -- with the exception of Vallee -- are among the eight who were charged in 2009 with plotting to kill Jonathan, Jamie and Jarrod Bacon, who are members of the rival Red Scorpions gang. The men have been in custody since their arrests.

Vallee and Conor D'Monte have also been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Red Scorpions member Kevin LeClair, who was close friends with the Bacon brothers. Investigators have not located Vallee and D'Monte, who are considered armed and very dangerous.

Police say D'Monte is one of the founders of the UN Gang and its current day to day leader."

'Dog Paw'collared - Jamaica's most wanted held in massive dragnet - Lead Stories - Jamaica Gleaner - Tuesday | January 25, 2011

'Dog Paw'collared - Jamaica's most wanted held in massive dragnet - Lead Stories - Jamaica Gleaner - Tuesday | January 25, 2011: "Christopher Linton, the reputed gang leader more popularly known as 'Dog Paw', was captured by the police yesterday during a massive security operation in Elletson Flats, St Andrew.

Linton's alleged reign of terror placed him at the top of the police most wanted list.

Police officials would not give details about Linton's capture, but sources say the 24-year-old, who has been accused of several murders and shootings, was caught without incident in a house with two women near the end of the day-long cordon and search operation.

Deputy Superintendent Michael Phipps, the crime officer for the Area Four Police Division, told The Gleaner last night that Linton would not be questioned until he has hired an attorney.

'What we have are allegations ... . So we will seek to settle the matter of his legal representation before we do the interviews with regard to these allegations, and then we will lay charges,' Phipps said.

One of the crimes for which Dog Paw was being sought is the pre-dawn slaying of three family members in Bedward Gardens, St Andrew, last month.

According to the police, Linton led a group of close to 40 gunmen who sprayed a house with bullets for several terrifying minutes before setting it on fire."

squad detectives probing two killings.

43.
The Sunday Mail today reveals the fugitive's face in a bid to help track him down as sources claim he is living the high-life in a millionaire's playground in Spain.
Sources say Ferguson was smuggled out of the country by a gangland tycoon from Calton, in Glasgow.
He been hiding out in Puerto Banus on the Costa Del Sol where he has stayed one step ahead of Scottish detectives despite a warrant being issues for his arrest.
Meanwhile, the families of the victims in the double murder being probed by detectives hunting Ferguson are sti ll waiting for justice.
Tam was shot in the chest in the car park of the Auchinairn Tavern in Bishopbriggs in June 2007.
Bates - who was also a suspect in Tam's killing - was discovered dead in an oil drum weeks later.
A European arrest warrant was issued for Ferguson later that year and Strathclyde Police have insisted his face cannot be revealed ever since.
David Whitton, Labour MSP for Bishopbriggs, where the first murder took place, said "It is absolutely right that the public are given the opportunity to recognise this man and would like to know exactly what is being done to execute his arrest warrant.
"I remember meeting Tam Cameron while canvassing and his shocking death had ter r ible ramifications.
"In the interests of justice, everything possible must be done to bring this man back to Scotland."
Labour justice spokesman Richard Baker said: "Derek Ferguson has apparently chosen to leave Scotland and has avoided questioning for four years.
"It is right to highlight this man and questions must be asked why he has evaded police questioning for so long."
Tory justice spokesman John Lamont said: "This is a man who has evaded justice for four years and it's important that he is caught as soon as possible.
"Revealing his face will surely help in that process and it's certainly in the public interest for the public to know what he looks like."
Tam Cameron's family have so far refused to comment about the case.
But a gangland source said: "It has surprised people that Ferguson has not been caught by now.
"People were expecting to see him back in months but years have passed.
"He seems to have been forgotten about."
It is believed Tam was murdered after discovering a member of his family had been bullied into helping commit a bank fraud.
Detectives wanted to question Bates and Ferguson, both from Possil in Glasgow, over his death.
Bates's decomposed corpse was found crammed in a drum in the River Clyde, near the Erskine Bridge.
He had suffered a brutal and sustained attack two weeks before.
Convicted heroin dealer Bates's family only managed to identify him when police showed them photos of two gold rings he was wearing.
He had just been released from prison and had been earning money as an enforcer.
Strathclyde Police suspect he was killed because he wanted to hand himself in for questioning. The force yesterday declined to comment.
Tam's murder came just 18 months after his son Ross, 20, died after being stabbed at a party.
Andrew Burns attacked Ross in the early hours of New Year's Day 2006 and was convicted of culpable homicide at the High Court in Edinburgh.
He was jailed for nine years.:Text may be subject to copyright. This blog does not claim copyright to any such text. Copyright remains with the original copyright holder.

French police arrest Marseille ganster after Riviera bank robbery

French police arrest Marseille ganster after Riviera bank robbery: "French police have arrested a Marseille gangster after he claimed to be the mastermind behind a famous bank robbery in the Riviera.

Police seized Jacques Cassandri, 68, a known figure of the southern French underworld, after he decided to set the record straight about the robbery.

Under the Streets of NiceIn The Truth about the Nice Heist, Mr Cassandri - writing under the pseudonym Amigo - said he was tired of living in the shadow of the man assumed to have run the Ocean's Eleven-style bank job, Albert Spaggiari, who he said played only a bit part.

On 16 July, 1976, after two months of drilling through the underlying sewers, 13 robbers broke into the vaults of the Societe Generale bank in central Nice. They spent six days clearing 370 coffers of gold, jewellery and cash amounting to 50 million francs - today worth about $38 million - before making their getaway as rising sewage waters began to flood the bank.

When police arrived, they found the words ''neither weapons, nor violence, nor hatred'', scrawled on the walls."

Kray prison letters up for auction - News - Morpeth Herald

Kray prison letters up for auction - News - Morpeth Herald: "Letters and artwork produced by killer Reggie Kray while he was in an Isle of Wight prison are being auctioned by the woman credited with helping him become a born-again Christian.

Carol-Ann Kelly struck up an unlikely friendship with the East End gangster while visiting her then husband in Parkhurst prison in 1983.

Krays - Geordie ConnectionTheir bond flourished over the years after Kray said she reminded him of his late wife Frances, and the pair read the Bible together during visits. The villain was so fond of Ms Kelly that she said he even paid for the rent on a flat on the Isle of Wight so she could visit him in prison with her then eight-year-old son David.

To some, Kray's claim to have become a born-again Christian was seen as a cynical attempt by him to help secure his release from jail. But in the previously unseen letters, he shows apparent sincerity in his actions, according to Ms Kelly.

Writing to her after the breakdown of her marriage, he told her: 'Get your head together. Don't contemplate suicide. It would be like turning traitor on David and your mother. I became a born-again Christian on behalf of you.'"

Terror kingpin Johnny 'Mad Dog' Adair is prime suspect as dodgy cigarettes flood Scotland - The Daily Record

Terror kingpin Johnny 'Mad Dog' Adair is prime suspect as dodgy cigarettes flood Scotland - The Daily Record: "MOBSTER Johnny 'Mad Dog' Adair can today be exposed as the top target for crime-busters probing a huge cigarette smuggling operation.
Police and Customs believe the convicted terror chief, whose paramilitaries were suspected of 40 murders, is now the Mr Big of a tobacco trafficking gang.
Crooks are doing a roaring trade at street markets across Scotland, selling tonsof cigarettesandrolling tobacco supplied by Chinese black marketeers.
And Customs men and police believe Adair's gang control the trade in Ayrshire, where he settled after his old UDA cronies hounded him out of Belfast.
A source said: 'Adair's name frequently crops up. They're known as Adair's gang.
'He is target number one. 'Given Adair's background in violence, murder and organised crime, some might see fake fags in Ayrshire as a form of semi-retirement. But the money to be made by those controlling the trade is massive.
'It's an attractive proposition to criminals, who risk much heavier sentences if they are caught dealing drugs.'"
