TV reporter in Brazil arrested over gang links: "Brazilian police have arrested television reporter Maritania Forlin, accusing her of handing a criminal gang police information in return for tip-offs on murders they planned to commit.
Ms Forlin, 28, was detained after police taped calls between her and a man alleged of being the leader of the gang. In one of the recorder calls, she complained about the shortage of recent murders to report. There has been no comment from Ms Forlin’s lawyer.
The television reporter, who was employed by the Independent Communications Network, was detained at her home in Campo Mourao, a city in Parana state in the south of Brazil. Police stated that Ms Forlin, along with 16 other people who have suspected ties the drug-trafficking group, had been under their surveillance for three months."
